He has a bachelors degree from Ohio Northern University and a masters from The Ohio State University. John is a Charter Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). John serves as the President and CEO of Scharer Insurance.

J. Ronald Scharer was first licensed in 1946 to sell life and health insurance. Two years later, he entered the property and casualty business and established Ronald Scharer Insurance. Since that time, the agency has grown into one of central Ohio’s premier insurance agencies. It was renamed to Scharer Insurance, Inc. in 1980. Ron has earned multiple designations including Charter Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). Ron serves as Chairman of the Board. |

John, Jr. joined Scharer Insurance in 2006 after working in both private and public arenas. John is licensed in property, casualty, life, health and annuities. He has a bachelor’s degree from Capital University and studied abroad at the University of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland. John serves as Vice President of Scharer Insurance.
